All flights operating to and fro Kolkata and Bhubaneswar from the LGBI Airport has been cancelled as Severe Cyclonic storm Fani is heading towards Bangladesh in the North-Northeast direction. So far, 28 flights have been cancelled.
Fani has entered West Bengal after leaving a trail of devastation in Odisha and reportedly is moving at a speed of 90 kmph towards Northeast.
On the other hand, 20 trains have been cancelled as of now and there will be no rail services till May 08. Services to Hyderabad, Kanyakumari, Chennai, Bengaluru and Puri have been suspended, however, rail services will still continue to operate to Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. General trains to and fro Upper-Lower Assam will still be operating.
Today, Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express and Agartala-Bangalore Cantonment Humsafar Express have been cancelled.
