The State Home and Political Department has ordered immediate suspension of five government officials appointed as disposing officers for hearing of claims and objections in the NRC update work.
As per reports, the Department has directed immediate suspension of Ekramul Hussain (assistant professor of West Goalpara College), Abdul Kader (Under Secretary to the Government of Assam (PWD-road and national highway), Prafulla Kumar Sarma (Assistant engineer of Palasbari Town Committee), Dr. Nilomoni Deb Goswami (Katlicherra veterinary officer), Brajen Kumar Oja (Agomoni (Dhubri) fishery extension officer).
Earlier, the NRC authority issued show cause notices to the five officials, but their replies were not satisfactory.
