Rajendra Narzary, former BTC Member of Council Legislative Assembly (MCLA) from Saraibil constituency expired on Sunday afternoon at a private nursing home in Guwahati.
He also served as the president of the Gossaigaon unit of All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU).
Narzary was battling cancer and was undergoing treatment. He leaves behind his wife, two sons and a host of other relatives.
The mortal remains of Narzary were taken to his native place in Gossaigaon, where a pale of gloom has descended.
The last rites of the former ABSU leader will be performed on Monday.
