Former CM Tarun Gogoi Passes Away | LIVE UPDATES

In a latest update on former Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi's health condition, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital superintendent Dr. Abhijit Sarmah has announced on Monday morning that the Congress leader is extremely critical.

Addressing the media, in a brief message, Dr. Sarmah said, "Lets hope for the best but he is still very critical today".

• Mr. Gogoi's son and daughter are beside him in the hospital today.
• Dr. Sarmah has said, "No dialysis will be conducted today".
• "Frankly speaking he is very critical and let's see what happens. We have given him the maximum life support we could," he said.
• Mr.Gogoi's oxygen saturation level is at 100.
• Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and wife Riniki Bhuyan Sarma are present at GMCH.
• MP Gaurav Gogoi extends his gratitude to the people of Assam for praying for the speedy recovery of his father and the former CM.
• Gaurav Gogoi suggested if sound therapy could be arranged for the 86-year-old Congress leader.

• Tarun Gogoi passed away at 5:34pm, informed Assam cabinet minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. His mortal remains will be taken to his government residence in Guwahati and will be taken to Kalakshetra tomorrow where he will be kept there until further notice.
