Four forest officials dead in Gaurisagar accident


Four forest officials were killed and two sustained serious injuries when their vehicle turned turtle after their lost control over the steering on NH37 in Suntalisiga under Gaurisagar area in the wee hours of Friday.

According to reports, there were six forest officials travelling from Sivasagar town. When they reached near Suntalisiga, the driver lost control and turned turtle before falling into a gorge.

The deceased were identified as Forest Guard Prashanta Dutta, Forest Guard Bipul Hazarika, Driver Nijam Ahmed and Priyam. The injured were immediately rushed to a hospital. The injured were Forest Ranger Bubul Baruah, Forest Guard Nijamuddin Ahmed.

The vehicle was a Maruti Gypsy bearing the number AS-04-T-5737.
