Former India captain Saurav Ganguly backed Mahendra Singh Dhoni and said that the World Cup winning Indian captain would succeed due to his ability and experiences. Dhoni’s rate of scoring has been a topic of debate in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup.
“Yes, Dhoni has been in the situation in the past. But he needs someone to play with him. He has the ability to hit the boundaries and play differently,” said Ganguly.
On Thursday, the former skipper scored 56 off 61 balls, exploding in the last over, to help India post a winning 268-run total on the board against the Caribbeans.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah also backed Dhoni. Kohli called Dhoni’s experience feedback invaluable and termed him a legend of the game.
