A bench of the Gauhati high court headed by acting chief justice AK Goswami has issued an order to conduct the Panchayat elections within 15th of January 2019 by the Assam government and the state election commission.
Assam Government and State Election Commission had sought response from the court to schedule the upcoming Assam Panchayat polls.
Earlier, Gauhati High Court orders to conduct the elections within September 15.
