Good news for Assam Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) qualified teachers as State Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya on Tuesday announced to extend the validity of their certificates.
Participating on Pratidin Time’s Abhimat, Minister Bhattacharya also said that the TET qualified teachers need not have to reappear in TET examinations. “We have already initiated process to extend the validity of their certificates and we sent letters to the Central government regarding the matter,” said the Minister.
He further said that the transfer process of the TET qualified teachers will once again begin in the State.
It may be mentioned here that the education minister in a recent radio interview had said that like the drivers renew their license time-to-time to keep the validity going, the teachers will also have to do something similar with their TET certificates in order to continue teaching. Upset over the statement, Assam TET teachers have been protesting in the State.
