Google, Twitter and Facebook faces President Trump’s wrath

Search engine major Google and social media major Twitter, and Facebook have faced wrath of US President Donald Trump. President Donald Trump has made more veiled threats toward Google and other web platforms, after tweeting that Google had “rigged” its search results to suppress positive news about him.

The US president said that Google, Twitter, and Facebook are on ‘troubled territory’ and ‘better be careful’.
Trump alleged that Google, Facebook, and Twitter were “treading on very, very troubled territory,” and that they had “better be careful, because you can’t do that to people.”

Trump stopped short of describing any specific political consequences, but he asserted, “I think Google is really taking advantage of a lot of people, and I think that’s a very serious thing, and it’s a very serious charge.”

“Google search results for “Trump News” shows only the viewing/reporting of Fake New Media,” Trump tweeted. “In other words, they have it RIGGED, for me & others, so that almost all stories & news is BAD.” In a follow up tweet, Trump continued, “Google & others are suppressing voices of Conservatives and hiding information and news that is good.”

Trump alleged that Google’s search engine was deliberately working against him. But the search engine was actually working just as intended: prioritizing well-known news outlets over lesser-known ones.
