After the announcement of the Central Government regarding the privatization of NRL, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal along with the Assam Government has been trying to convince the people of Assam that Govt has no information in this regard till date.

But on the other hand, soon after the announcement, some new shocking information has come to light. Central Government of India is seeking tender from the Law firms for legal advice to hand over the industries, which are under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to the private company.

Reportedly, the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management has called for a meeting with the Law Firms on 30th October 2019.

It may be stated that BPCL is also in the list of privatisation among those other industries which are under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Moreover, BPCL has 62% of its share in NRL, and the marketing of NRL is completely depended upon BPCL. So it has been suspected by the people that, if BPCL goes under private company than its effect will definitely reflect on NRL.
