In a fierce gun battle between the security forces and Maoists in Saraikela district in Jharkhand, one CoBRA Commando and ASI rank official of CRPF have been killed on Thursday.
The two martyred security personnel have been identified as CoBRA jawan Utpal Rabha and Banua Oraon.
The mortal remains of martyr Utpal Rabha, who hailed from Bajendoba, Garo Hils, had been brought to his residence on Friday after which his last rites had been performed.
The gun battle in which Rabha had been martyred continued for more than 3 hours, about 135 km away from Ranchi. According to the police, due to the intense firing, security forces remained cornered for a long period and gradually succumbed to their injuries.
