How the bomb was planted?

Within a period of 48 hours the police had been successful in cracking the Guwahati grenade blast case, which took place at Zoo Road outside the Guwahati Central mall on Wednesday at 7:50 PM, and also saved the city from being a victim of another blast.

One of the prime accused, Jahnabi Saikia, identified as an actor, who comes from a well to do family of doctor narrated the series of events which led to the blast during interrogation.

Timeline of events leading to the blast on Wednesday

• 7:07 PM: Jahnabi was present at the Guwahati Central mall to verify and inspect the spot. She also entered the mall and lingered around for some time.
• 7:21 PM: One of the two youths, who hurled the grenade, picked up Jahnabi, on a scooter, from the mall and took her to Panjabari.
• 7:36 PM: Jahnabi reached Panjabari. The youth packs the grenade to hurl it at the spot where the blast had been decided on.
• 7:45 PM: The youth left Panjabari on the scooter with the grenade. On the way, he picked up another youth to accomplish the plan.
• 7:50 PM: Security forces carrying on regular checking in front of the mall. From the other side, the youths threw the grenade at the blast site.
• 04:15 AM (Next Day) Police raids Jahnabi Saikia's house with Pranamoy Rajguru and found grenade making devices with explosives.
• 09:30 AM Police arrests both of them officially in the blast case

The two accused Pranamoy Rajguru and Jahnabi Saikia, who had been detained yesterday, are now in the custody of Panbazar Police and are in the process of being presented in front of the judicial magistrate.
