One of the detainees in the grenade blast in Zoo Road, Guwahati, Jahnabi Saikia during rigorous interrogation has revealed several shocking details of how the plan had been executed.
Unveiling the plot of the grenade blast, Saikia, who is allegedly involved with the ULFA, narrated the whole chronology of events. According to her statement, two youths came in a scooty with the grenade and executed the plan.
What happened half an hour prior to the blast?
Jahnabi Saikia was present in Guwahati Central. She came to verify and inspect the spot and was in the shopping mall for quite a while. One of the two youths, who hurled the grenade, dropped Saikia home in Panjabari in the same scooty.
After dropping the detainee, the youth picked up the grenade from the rent house, where Jahnabi was living as a tenant.
On the way, the youth picked another youth and the rest is history.
Amid high security and seemingly alert police, two youths on a scooty had the audacity to hurl a grenade is a matter of high concern. Reportedly, among the 12 injured, two were SSB jawans.
