Guwahati City FC U-18 trials – 433 players participate from across the country

Guwahati City Football Club (GCFC)'s first ever trial for its Under-18 youth team witnessed a massive response from across the country with as many as 433 footballers from across Northeast and other states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and West Bengal taking part.

The trial was organised in association with Sportscraft Management at Horticulture Research Station, Kahikuchi on May 5 and 6. GCFC club director Kaustab Chakraborty in a statement said that selected players will represent the club in all local, regional and national level youth competitions including U18 I-League in near future.

Chakraborty further informed informed that GCFC is planning to set up its U-13 and U-15 age group teams with the same objective. GCFC shall continue its grassroots development projects and soon start soccer schools in various parts of the city and a youth academy apart from forming teams to participate at various levels and age groups.

The club shall also start a professional league featuring 6 to 13 years old footballers in adherence to All India Football Federation's ambitious baby league, Chakraborty added.
