Heavy downpour for the past two days has plagued many a life in the Jamnagar district of Gujarat. As reported by media, the District Administration with the help of SDRF, has moved more than a thousand people to safety, besides rescuing around 80 people.
Talukas in the district received heavy rainfall in the range of 30mm to 150mm till Tuesday evening.
There are reports of people getting trapped in villages like Nathuvadla and Jodia. Additional Collector of Jamnagar HR Kelaiya reportedly confirmed this, and added that the NDRF team was able to save the ones who got trapped on time.
Few housing societies of the Jamnagar city also got inundated after Rangmati and Nagmati – two rivers that flow near the city – swell due to the heavy showers.
