Highway nightmare: Pallab Lochan Finds ‘New Excuse’

At a time, when people of Assam have been continuously suffering the problem of the deplorable condition of roads, Tezpur MP Pallab Lochan Das has come up with a new ‘excuse’ to not construct or repair the roads.

According to MP Pallab Lochan, good roads resulted in an increasing number of accidents. Addressing a public rally in Tezpur, the MP said, “If the roads are dilapidated, then youths ride their motorcycles in lesser speed, which in turn reduces the number of accidents.”

Now the question arises, is the MP, who has a reputation of making controversial statements, attempting to defend the failure of his party-led government’s PWD minister with his recent remarks?
