Assam Congress president Ripun Bora on Wednesday said that Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma should be put behind the bars. His remarks came after Minister Sarma had claimed that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill will be once again tabled in the parliament in December.
“Himanta should be arrested for being irresponsible and making communal statements,” Bora said in Hailakandi, adding, “He made communal remarks recently in Barak Valley regarding detention camps, which is a big statement to be made by a lawmaker.”
On the other hand, speaking about the CAB, Bora termed it as a lollipop by the government to fool people. “CAB is a lollipop by the government to fool the people of Assam. The government will not provide land rights or jobs to the people after implementing CAB,” said Bora.
