Interrogation of Hizbul Mujahideen cadre Kamruz Zaman, who had been arrested by the Kanpur ATS, has revealed several shocking details. Hizbul's commander Amir aka Osama Javed had visited Assam in 2017 with Jihadi Kamruz.
Allegedly, Amir had come from Pakistan with plans of painting Northeast with bloodshed. Strengthening Hizbul's hold over Northeast was another reason that had brought Amir to Assam.
It may be noted that Amir had lodged in Kamruz's residence in Jamunamukh posing as a religious leader along with two other men. The former introduced the two men with him as his sons.
It has come to light that it was Amir who had enrolled Kamruz and Shahnawaz into the terrorist outfit. The commander had also travelled to several places in Upper and Middle Assam.
As per reports, Amir, Kamruz and Shahnawaz also went to Dimapur to purchase arms where they met an arms dealer named Don Bahar.
According to sources Kamruz Zaman had taken his Jihadi training in Pakistan, who had also planned to take other Jihadis from Assam for training in the mentioned country.
