Hizbul militant from Assam arrested

The Uttar Pradesh Police,on thursday arrested one of the most wanted terrorists from Assam Kamruz Zaman who had joined the Hizbul Mujaheedin in Jammu & Kashmir.

Assam police sources confirmed the arrest of Zaman and said that he fell into the trap of the Uttar Pradesh anti terrorist squad.

According to reports, the Uttar Pradesh police have claimed that the dreaded terrorist was planning to carry out a terror attack in UP. The Assam police will send a team to UP to interrogate the dreaded terrorist.The security forces also suspect many other youths from Assam of joining terror groups active in Jammu & Kashmir.

Police said, Kamruz stayed at a rented house in Kanpur Shiv Nagar as Dr Hurera and used a scooter with an Indian Airforce tag. He joined Hizbul Mujaheedin through a person named Osama and undertook militant training at Kashmir in April 2017.

In March a photo of Zaman wielding an automatic weapon had gone viral in social media that hit the headlines. Later he was identified by his family members in Jamunamukh.

Zaman, a MA in English, went to Bangladesh following which he had visited the US and stayed abroad for four years for some business. In 2016 he returned home and shifted to Kashmir and started a  garment business.
