The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has announced the Assam HSLC and AHM results at 9 AM on Wednesday (May 15). However, the results went viral on social media more than one and half hours before the official announcement.
Reacting to the development, Assam Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya on Wednesday said that an official probe will be carried out against those who circulated the results on social media hours before they were officially announced.
Addressing a press conference in Guwahati, Minister Bhattacharya said, “Strict action will be taken against those who circulated rumours on social media.” The Minister also informed that WhatsApp groups will also be scrutinized in connection with the incident. He said that with the help of Assam Police’s Cyber Crime Cell, the culprits will be detected.
The pass percentage saw a relative increase of 4.19 percent in comparison to the previous year’s 56.04 percent.
