An Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel identified as Gaurav Gupta drowned in Kakosang Waterfall near Karbi Anglong-Bokakhat border on Sunday afternoon.
Gupta, along with his three friends, had gone to the Kakosang waterfall for swimming when he went missing.
A SDRF team later recovered his body.
All four were employed with the IAF and stationed in Jorhat. They work at the technical department.
Gupta and his friends all hailed from Uttar Pradesh.
The other three IAF personnel have been identified as Bijay Pratap Singh, Himangshu Dixit, and Vijay Pratap Singh
