In a serious development, a professor of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati, has been detained by police in connection with alleged attempt to rape incident.
The professor has been identified as KV Srikanth, who works as a professor in the Department of Mathematics at IIT-Guwahati.
According to reports, he was detained on Saturday based on a complaint filed in North Guwahati Police on Friday.
