The KamrupMetro Excise department has busted illegal liquor dens in Himalayan Distillery Companysituated at 12 mile in Jorabat which was sealed earlier.
The excise department has launched the operation at the Himalayan Distillery which was sealed down a few years ago after they received information through internal source.
The excise department seized 5000 empty liquor bottles, liquor labels of different brands, 3200 liters of Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA). The excise department has informed that they have also recovered overhead tanks, filter and packaging platforms and bottle caps used in the manufacturing of alcohol.
The exciseofficials also recovered labels of Imperial Blue, McDowell, Officers' Choiceand arrested one Subhash Boro involved in the incident.
It may bementioned that the Himalayan Distillery owned by BJP leader Jitu Goswami hasbeen sealed down as it was unable to repay the debt of the bank.
The question now arises that will the excise department be able to bring out the actual person who is involved in running the illegal liquor business. Will the department be able to investigate the matter to bring out the real scenario? Question also arises that is there any political backing to run the illegal liquor business in the company which was sealed by the bank of the BJP leader.
