India Hits Back at Pak PM’s Speech at UNGA

India has said that its citizens do not need anyone else tospeak on their behalf and least of all those who have built an industry ofterrorism from the ideology of hate.

Exercising the right of reply, First Secretary in India'sPermanent Mission to the United Nations Vidisha Maitra said that unfortunatelywhat we heard from Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan was a callous portrayalof the world in binary terms. Strongly hitting back at Imran Khan's statementat 74th Session of UN General Assembly, Maitra said, it is a fostersdivisiveness at the United Nations. She said that rarely has the GeneralAssembly witnessed such misuse, rather the abuse of an opportunity to reflect.

Maitra said that a few questions that Pakistan can respond toas a precursor to the proposed verification, is that would Khan deny to thecity of New York that he was an open defender of Osama bin Laden? CouldPakistan confirm the fact that it is home to 130 UN-designated terrorists and25 terrorist entities listed by the UN, as of today? She further asked, wouldPakistan acknowledge that it is the only Government in the world that providespension to an individual listed by the UN in the Al Qaeda and Da'esh Sanctionslist.
