India lifts Under-19 Asia Cup, Again

In cricket, the Indian Under-19 team thrashed Sri Lanka by 144 runs in the summit clash in Dhaka to clinch the U-19 Asia Cup for the sixth time.

The U-19 boys registered a comfortable victory over the island nation in the final thanks to spinner Harsh Tyagi's six-wicket haul.

Sri Lanka kept losing wickets and crumbled for 160 in 38.4 overs chasing a mammoth 305 for a victory as Tyagi finished with an impressive figure of 6/38.

Earlier, India rode on half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal (85), skipper Prabh Simran Singh (65*), Anuj Rawat (57) and Ayush Badoni (52*) to post 304/3 in the alloted 50 overs.

India are presently the most successful team in the youth Asia Cup history winning titles in 1989, 2003, 2012 (shared), 2014, 2016, 2018. Only two other nations – Pakistan and Afghanistan have tasted success in the past.
