Indian Army copter crashes in Bhutan, pilots dead

It was on the way to Yongfulla and had started from Khirmu in Arunachal Pradesh.

Indian Army's Cheetah helicopter crashed in Bhutan with the two pilots inside losing their lives. Of the two deceased, one was a Lieutenant Colonel Indian Army pilot while the other was a Bhutanese Army pilot who was training with the Indian Army.

Sources suggest that the mishap took place when the Indian Army chopper was approaching Yonphula for landing, but instead, it crashed into the nearby hill Khentongmani. Both Indian and Bhutanese army officers were killed on the spot.

Indian Army spokesperson Colonel Aman Anand said the crash took place at about 1 pm and soon after the chopper lost contact as well.

It was on the way to Yongfulla and had started from Khirmu in Arunachal Pradesh.
