Japanese encephalitis claims 2 lives in Kamrup (R)

At least two people have died of Japanese encephalitis in Assam’s Kamrup (R) district on Saturday. Several other people are now undergoing treatment in various hospitals in the district.

As per reports, both the deceased died in Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). They were the residents of Patrapur and Malibari area of Kamrup (R) district.

It may be mentioned here that in Jorhat at least six persons have died so far in Japanese encephalitis. However, the Assam heath department is yet to take any actions to control the death toll.
