J&K: 3 Suspected Militants Gunned Down

Security forces killed three suspected militants in Kreeri area of Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir today, a statement from the Indian Army said.

Two soldiers who were critically injured in the search and cordon operation, later succumbed to their injuries.

The Army said one AK-47 and three pistols were recovered from the militants. The search operation for more militants is still going on.

The Kashmir Zone Police said on Twitter, "Among 03 killed terrorists, 02 are top commanders of LeT Sajad, Haider and a foreign terrorist Usman. Haider, was the main conspirator in the recent killings in Bandipora, was also instrumental in recruiting youth into terror folds. Involved in several attacks on Police, SFs, civilians & political workers".

The Inspector General of Kashmir Vijay Kumar said, "The foreign terrorist Usman was one of the killers of the BJP leader Late Waseem Bari, his father and brother who were killed recently.

Yesterday, two Central Reserve Police Force soldiers and a special police officer were killed during a gunfight with suspected militants in Baramulla. The two militants affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba were killed.

The two CRPF jawans were initially injured in the gunfight and later died in a nearby hospital. The force said two more jawans were injured critically.
