In response to the cold-blooded murder of Dr. Rahul Basumatary in Jorhat recently, members of All Bodo Students' Union and All Assam Tribal Students' Union staged demonstrations at Gogamukh town of Dhemaji district.
The agitators, who also lighted lamps in memory of the deceased doctor right in the middle of the town, demanded strict and rigorous punishment for the culprit.
It must be noted that Basumatary was killed gruesomely on Friday night. He was a junior doctor working at Dr. J.K.Saikia Homeopathy Medical College, Jorhat.
One Diganta Tati was arrested on Saturday night in Jorhat in connection to the suspicious death of Dr. Rahul Basumatary.
