Kamrup (M) Dist Admin to Act Strict Against COVID-19 Scenario

The Kamrup (M) district administration will keep a strict eye on the truck which comes from outside, commercial establishments, petrol pumps, and other business establishments and will start collecting samples from Tuesday.

Speaking to media personnel, the deputy commissioner said that there are 34 parking places and more than 150 godowns in and around Guwahati and the administration will monitor the situation in these places.

The deputy commissioner also said that maximum samples will becollected from the areas where the gatherings are more. He also said that thegovernment will take strict action against those who will be moved from thecontainment zones.

Reacting on the mass gatherings in different places in Guwahati amid the coronavirus outbreak, state health minister Pijush Hazarika said that the health department suspected that the rising cases of COVID-19 are due to the truck driver who comes from outside the state.

The minister further said that the swab samples will be collected fromthe dhabas where the truck drivers take food, parking place, the godowns wherethe commodities are loaded and unloaded.

He further stated that the citizens have also neglected the socialdistancing adding that if necessary, lockdown will be imposed again in thecity.
