Kangana Ranaut Granted Y+ Security

Union Home Ministry on Monday has granted Y-plus category security to Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut ahead of her Mumbai visit on September 9. The decision came amid escalating war of words between Shiv Sena leader Sanjay and the actor.

Ranaut will have 10-11 armed commandoes guarding her in three shifts under the Y-plus category. Two-three Personal Security Officers (PSOs) will be accompanying her round the clock and one security personnel be deployed at her residence in Mumbai.

The decision was taken after the Himachal Pradesh government approached the ministry citing threat to the actor. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been tasked to take over her security.

Ranaut who is currently at her hometown Manali in Himachal Pradesh has thanked Home Minister Amit Shah for "showing his respect for India's daughter" by providing her the Y-plus security.

She took to her twitter handle and conveyed the same.

"This shows that no one can crush a patriot in the country. I am thankful to Home Minister Amit Shah. Had he wanted, he would have told me to visit Mumbai later but he respected India's daughter and acknowledged my self-respect. Jai Hind," she tweeted.

The actor earlier accused the Shiv Sena leaders like Sanjay Raut of threatening her and also remarked "why is Mumbai feeling Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir", which escalated the fight and provoked controversial comments from Shiv Sena leaders and demanded her apology.
