Karnataka: Governor asks CM to prove majority tomorrow

In a recent development in the Karnataka political crisis, the Governor of the State Vajubhai Vala has written a letter to Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and asked him to prove majority on the floor of the assembly by 1:30 pm on Friday.

Earlier, the Karnataka assembly witnessed high drama after the Speaker ignored a message from the Governor. The ruling Congress-JD(S) coalition also accused the BJP of kidnapping its MLAs.

Meanwhile, Karnataka BJP Chief BS Yeddyurappa told ANI, “We are demanding voting on the motion but the Chief Minister is reluctant to take it up as he has confirmed himself that he has lost confidence of the house and the people. Everybody knows Congress-JD(S) have only 98 MLAs, we have 105.”

On the other hand, BJP MLAs earlier said that they would sit on an overnight ‘dharna’ in the house demanding consideration of floor test today.
