The Supreme Court on Thursday has asked 10 rebel MLAs of Congress and JD(S) in Karnataka to meet the Assembly Speaker at 6 PM today and submit their resignations.
The apex court also directed the Speaker to take a final decision on the issue today itself. The SC will hear the decision of the Speaker tomorrow (July 12).
Meanwhile, the court has further ordered DGP of Karnataka to provide protection to the MLAs. “Security would be provided to the MLAs,” said the SC bench.
It may be mentioned here that in a plea, the rebel MLAs had alleged that the Karnataka Assembly Speaker was not accepting their resignations deliberately.
