Kerala Agriculture Minister V S Sunil Kumar has tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday. He is the third member of the Kerala cabinet to have contracted the infectious virus.
Kumar has been a proactive minister leading the Covid activities in Ernakulam district and has been shuttling between the state capital and Ernakulam since April.
Earlier, state finance minister T.M Thomas Isaac and Industries minister E.P Jayarajan had tested positive for the infection.
Kerala currently has 40,382 active cases, while 1,01,731 people have been cured. Total number of deaths stand at 572.
