KMSS Demands CBI Inquiry Over Coal Syndicate

KrishakMukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) chief Akhil Gogoi said that the illegal mining ofcoal is still taking place at Ledo and Margherita in November also. He saidthat 5000-6000 labourers collect coal and thousands of labourers are losingtheir lives while mining coal.

Addressing a press conference here today, KMSS chief said that all the rivers in Ledo and Margherita have become polluted and that the major mining has been done at Digboi range.

Hefurther claimed that the guard of Coal India takes Rs. 30lakhs in one bag andthe Max Pickup van has to give Rs. 500 and a truck has to give Rs. 30,000.

Gogoi also stated that the forest department has submitted a report of coal mining in the Digboi range. He also said that the RSS and BJP are running the coal syndicate in the state and therefore, they don't take any action against it.

He also informed that 300-400 pickup van carries coal from a place called Aradhana on a daily basis.

TheKMSS leader also threatened the state government to stop illegal coal mining inthe state or else they will stage protest in front of the Chief Ministershouse.

Healso challenged the state government to hand over the coal syndicate inquiry tothe CBI and that if the chief minister has the guts to give the inquiry to theCBI, then everything will be revealed as who are associated with the coalsyndicate.
