KMSS has proposed to launch a movement to create awareness against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) 2016 starting October 11, 2019 in the state marking the beginning of the awareness drive against CAB.
Peasant leader Akhil Gogoi exhorted the people to come out en masse on the streets to protest against the Bill as there was a possibility of it being placed in the parliament by December.
“The entire region will be “worst affected” by the CAB”; Gogoi demanded centre to exclude the North-East from the purview of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.
KMSS affirmed that any attempt made by the union or state government to impose any language on the indigenous people would not be accepted.
Gogoi alleged that the BJP and RSS are trying to impose autocratic rule in the nation.
