The COVID-19 situation in Lakhimpur created panic after 9 members of a family tested positive of the virus including children. 13 persons tested positive for the virus in Naoboisa at Lakhimpur after which chaos erupted in the district.
9 members of Gopal Saikia's family in Chamua village in Naoboisa have been infected with the deadly virus. The district witnessed large numbers of COVID-19 cases and the health department and district administration also suspected of community transmission for which the cases are increasing rapidly.
Meanwhile, Assam registered 14600 positive cases while the active numbers stand at 5423.
