Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has said that Rahul Gandhi’s decision to quit from his post as Congress President is suicidal.
RJD Chief Yadav said that Gandhi’s decision to quit as the Congress President will not only ring the death knell for his party but all forces who are fighting against the Sangh Parivar. Yadav also said that his resignation from the post of Congress chief would also be akin to falling into the BJP’s trap.
He further stated that if the Congress makes a non-Gandhi the party President they will be accused of being a “puppet” of the Gandhi family adding that why should Rahul Gandhi give such an opportunity to his political detractors.
Lalu Prasad Yadav, while analyzing the 2019 Lok Sabha poll result said that the opposition should admit that the resounding victory for the Modi government was a collective failure and should introspect on what went wrong. Yadav further claimed that the opposition parties failed to synchronise their strategy and actions leading to the absence of a national narrative for the public.
The RJD chief further referred to the fact that no clear PM candidate emerged from the opposition against Narendra Modi saying that the opposition could not choose one dulha (groom) for their baraat (wedding procession).
He also said that the opposition should have collectively projected Gandhi as their PM candidate adding that there was nothing wrong for the regional parties to bargain for more seats but they should not have done the strategic blunder of not projecting someone who has a national perspective as the PM candidate.
