Large quantity of smuggled oil has been seized in Rajabari of Bokakhat on Sunday.
The operation for busting illegal oil was led by Golaghat Additional Superiendent of Police, Anjan Pandit.
As per reports, the smuggling of illegal oil has been going on in the name of pig and chicken farming.
It has been suspected that the oil has been theft from the oil tanker bearing registration no. NL-05-D-7095.
A person named Paramananda Das is suspected to be involved in the smuggling of illegal oil. As per sources, he is also politically involved with the regional political party, Asom Gana Parishad
Meanwhile, Golaghat Police is carrying out investigation for further information in concern with the case.
