Dibrugarh police on Tuesday filed the final chargesheet against 24 officers of Assam Civil Service, Assam Police Service and allied services who were arrested on charges of securing jobs thro-ugh the Assam Public Service Commission by paying bribes.
The chargesheet was filed at the special court under various Sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and different Sections of the IPC.
“We have completed our investigation. Four of the accused are still absconding and we have arrested seventy people including then APSC chairman Rakesh Paul in connection with the case,” said investigating officer Surjeet Singh Panesar on Tuesday.
It may be mentioned here that there were seven ACS and APS official amongst the arrested seventy accused.
