Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat (IFS:1999), presently Joint Secretary in the Ministry, has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Cyprus. She is expected to take up the assignment shortly.
Bhagat is presently a Joint Secretary in the MEA. She will be succeeding RK Raghavan, who was appointed to the post in 2017.
