Majuli Cultural University Classes To Begin Next Year

Classes of the Majuli Cultural University will commence from next year and it will take place in the premises of Majuli College building for the time being.

This was announced on Monday in Majuli by the newly appointed VC of the university Dr. Dambarudhar Nath while addressing a press meet at Gormur Xatra.

He also spoke at length about the curriculum of the Majuli Cultural University and spoke at length about the future plans and programs about the university.

Earlier, the VC was given a rousing welcome by the people of Majuli when he reached the island to officially announce about the starting of the university.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on 2018 laid foundation stone for the state's first cultural university at Majuli to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 300 crore.

It may be mentioned here that Dr. Dambarudhar Nath recently had entered into a controversy after a female student of Dibrugarh University leveled charges of sexual harassment against him.

Dr. Nath, however, has denied the charges and said that it was a conspiracy to frame him with false allegations.
