One Krishna Gogoi has been brutally beaten up in Mariani when he went to stop a fight between two persons who were drunk. The man Krishna Gogoi has been tied up in a tree and was assaulted by three persons named Niranjan Gogoi, Babu Gogoi and Bhadra Gogoi.
It was said by locals that Krishna Gogoi went to stop the clashbetween two persons who were said to be Krishna's relative. He sustainedserious injury in the incident.
However, locals alleged that there has been a massiveillegal liquor business running in the area since many days and the environmenthas been hampered due to the prevalence of illegal liquor.
