In a sensational incident, a man was beaten to death by his son at Udalguri under Tamulpur police station on Wednesday evening. The deceased has been identified as Bhabesh Kalita.
According to reports, Kalita got into a heated argument with hiseldest son Jatin Kalita over some family dispute.
Jatin hit his father with a stick when matters turned ugly. After the father was beaten with a stick, he fell down on the ground but still Jatin beats him continuously till death.
Later, when he realized that his father was dead, he managed to escape from the spot taking the help of darkness.
During the incident, no one was present at home except Jatin'smother.
However, neighbours informed the police after they come to knowabout the incident and a team of Gandhibari police out-post rushed to the spotand sent the body to Mushalpur for post mortem.
An FIR has been registered against fugitive Jatin in Tamulpurpolice station.
However, Jatin was still absconding and police have started theinitial investigation into the incident.
