Manipur Crosses 600 Marks in COVID-19 Tally

The COVID-19 cases in Manipur are rising at an alarming rate as the tally crosses 600 marks. On Thursday evening, the COVID-19 tally in the state reached 606 after 54 new cases have been detected.

Out of the 54 persons, 20 are male and 34 female has been diagnosed with COVID infection at the Virus Research & Diagnosis Laboratory (VRDL) of Jawaharlal Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), as stated in a press statement issued by the spokesperson of the state health department.

The positive patients have been shifted to the COVID CareFacilities.

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state is 407. Seven persons have been discharged from RIMS on Thursday after they were tested COVID negative on the RT PCR test.

The total number of recovered cases in the state is 199 and therecovery rate is 32.83 percent.

Meanwhile, the government instructed that all the persons coming by road will be allowed to enter the State by road till 4:30 pm from the Mao gate and 12 pm from the Jiribam gate.

In case the vehicle has persons of different districts and there is no transport arrangement beyond Imphal, the vehicle and the passengers will report to Modern college (Porompat) district screening center.

All persons coming by air will report to HRD academy,Ghari and the passengers will be sent as per the district, it added.

30,476 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in the state as of today while 2,73,275 were screened at various entry points of the State, according to the latest status update report on COVID-19 issued by the state surveillance officer of the integrated disease surveillance programme.

Around 20,157 are presently at quarantine centers while 22,889 others completed quarantine.
