The movement of four MLAs of National People's Party (NPP) in Manipur who left for Delhi to hold talks with central leaders has taken a fresh turn of the ongoing political crisis in the state.

These four NPP MLAs had withdrawn support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led coalition government.

Meanwhile, Assam minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also the convener of the North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) and NPP national president and Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma who arrived in Imphal in a chartered flight hours before the team's departure, accompanied the NPP MLAs, the source added.

According to reports the four NPP MLAs including former deputy chief minister Yumnam Joykumar Singh (who represents Uripok constituency), have left Bir Tikendrajit International Airport near Imphal in a chartered flight around 4: 30 pm on Tuesday.

The other three NPP MLAs are former health minister L Jayentakumar (Keishamthong), former sports minister Letpao Haokip (Chandel), and former tribal affairs minister N Kayisii (Tadubi).

Meanwhile NEDA Convener Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said that the political crisis of Manipur will be resolved within three days.

Sarma said that negotiations with the NPP were ongoing and a positive outcome was expected.

However, the four NPP MLAs and Conrad Sangma refused to comment on the new political development when they arrived at the airport for their onward journey.

The NEDA convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma told the reporters that this time they want to address all the issues raised by the MLAs so that they can concentrate on the development and elections.

He further stated that although the MLAs are still sticking to their but they are talking to them and that their intention is to resolve the issues amicably as soon as possible."

However, Sarma did not share the demands of the NPP MLAs.
