Have you ever heard that a job aspirant can be a government teacher at the age of 15/17? We're not joking. It has been reported that hundreds of teachers were appointed with fake birth certificates in Sivasagar district during the regime Congress and AGP. These teachers are now under the scanner of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption.
Pranati Gowala – currently working in a government school obtained her job in 1990. She submitted her birth certificate during the appointment, which reads her DOB (Date of birth) 01/06/1970. The teacher had appeared HSLC examination in 1991 – as per reports.
In a notification, the state government made it clear that 'Candidates willing to serve as Primary level teacher (between 1975 to 2000), must assure that they clear the 10th board examination and should be more than or equal to 18 Years'.
On the other hand, her son Nilamoni Gowala joined as a teacher in a government school in 1994. He submitted his birth certificate during the appointment, which reads his DOB (Date of birth) 01/03/1972.

This was exposed by an RTI activist namely Diganta Saikia,and filed several cases in three police stations. But, the then educationdepartment didn't take the matter seriously.
