Former BJP chief and Union Minister Murli Manohar Joshi on Tuesday said that he has been told by the BJP leaders not to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. "Like LK Advani, I have been told not to contest," Joshi told reporters.
He is currently an MP from Kanpur and interestingly, along with LK Advani, Joshi's name is also missing from the list of 40 star campaigners for the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh.
Also in a letter to the voters of Kanpur, Joshi said that the party leader suggested him not to contest the Lok Sabha election "from Kanpur and elsewhere".
