Myanmar launches operation to eliminate NE ultras

According to fresh reports, the Myanmar Army has launched operation to clean the country of ultras. This move comes after the country's army took over the camps of the militant groups.

As per an Assam Tribune report, Indian Government sources said that the Myanmar Army launched the operation on May 17. Informing India, the Myanmar government said that their security forces have been directed to guard the international border for five months in order to ensure that the militants have been flushed out of the country.

Sources have also informed that NSCN (K) has signed a ceasefire agreement with the Myanmar Army and the headquarters of the outfit, said the report adding that Myanmar Army has agreed NSCN (K) to stay in the country under the condition that they would not accommodate members of other outfits.

On the other hand, although China has signed an agreement with India to cooperate when it came to terrorism, the former government has not yet accepted the fact that Paresh Baruah mostly stays in China, informed the sources.
