NDA Leads In 16 LS Seats In Northeast

As the votes are being counted across the country, the picture of BJP's landslide victory is gradually getting clearer.

In Northeast as well the BJP-led NDA seems to be making a clean sweep the party and its allies are leading in 16 out of total 25 seats.

In Arunachal Pradesh, the BJP is leading in both the seats and its state president Tapir Gaon and senior leader Kiren Rijiju on course to emerge as eventual winners.

In Assam, the BJP is leading in 9 out of 14 seats. Its allies the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) is leading in 1 seat. The Congress in 1 seat, the AIUDF in 2 seats and Independent in 1 seat.

In Manipur, the BJP is leading from the Inner Manipur seat, while its NEDA ally the Naga Peoples Front is leading from the Outer Manipur seat.

In Meghalaya, the NDA ally National People's Party (NPP) is set to win the Tura seat as its candidate from the constituency Agatha Sangma is leading her nearest contender, former Meghalaya Chief Minister, and senior Congress leader Dr. Mukul Sangma, by a margin of 63526 votes as per the latest trend.

In Shillong, INC candidate Vincent H Pala is leading United Democratic Party (UDP)'s candidate Jemino Mawtoh by 151721 votes.

In Mizoram, the Mizo National Front (MNF)- again a member of the BJP-led NEDA- is leading in the lone Lok Sabha seat.

In Nagaland, the Indian National Congress, however, has put up a good show and is leading the lone Lok Sabha seat.

In Sikkim, the Sikkim Democratic Front is trailing behind Sikkim Krantikari Morcha in the lone LS seat.

The BJP in Tripura is leading in both the seats and is expected to win both quite comfortably.
